A tech event for Black women, by Black women is coming to Toronto this fall
An American tech event is coming to Toronto this fall to shine a spotlight on Black women entrepreneurs, a demographic that’s rapidly growing yet receives one of the lowest amounts of funding.
Years ago, New York-based Regina Gwynn noticed a visible disparity in the technology market: a lack of Black women working in the field.
The tech entrepreneur stepped foot into the industry in 2013 as CEO of the now-defunct TresseNoire, a company proclaimed as the first virtual beauty booking for finding products and services for women with textured hair.
